Rachel was born in the Philippines to a Canadian dad and American mom who were missionaries there. In 1997, the family moved to the United States and settled in North Carolina, where they became involved in a church community dedicated to honoring God's Word and sharing the Gospel. Rachel was raised in an environment that valued discipleship and international service.  During the fall of 2014, while living with Dutch relatives in the Netherlands, she met her husband, Julian, a Belgian citizen who was there attending seminary. Their connection began with a mutual love of Jesus and an understanding of the great spiritual need for workers in the fields of Europe. This connection blossomed and led to marriage in 2016.

Now living in Brussels, Belgium since August 2021, Rachel is working in association with Community Bible Study International (CBSI), whose focus as an organization is making disciples of the Lord Jesus through in-depth, inductive Bible study within caring communities. Rachel works in a variety of areas within the scope of CBSI ministry, including starting Bible studies, caring for and leading groups, training individuals to lead groups themselves, helping develop unified Bible study training resources for all of Europe, and working alongside and equipping Christians in European countries who want to build a CBSI ministry for the first time. Additionally, Rachel is dedicated to French language acquisition to minister more effectively in the Francophone context of Brussels.

Julian serves on the pastoral team of an evangelical church in Brussels, and Rachel is thrilled to be serving within local church ministry and within the context of CBSI to advance the name of Christ in Belgium, where Christianity is represented in less than 2% of the population, and in Europe more broadly.
